Mansions of the South Tour

9:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

The South’s most rewarding showplace, Belle Meade Plantation, is known as the “Queen of the Tennessee Plantations.” The fully restored Greek Revival mansion was completed in 1853 and the grounds include a large carriage house, stable, log cabin, winery, and several other original buildings.

Belmont Mansion is a villa built in 1850 that was the summer home of Adelicia Acklen, an extraordinary woman who married a then unheard-of three times. Adelicia was reputed to be the wealthiest woman in the United States in the mid-nineteenth century. An ornate Italianate design, the home features many of the original furnishings and includes marble fountains, cast-iron gazebos, and statuary that are still standing as evidence of ornate, formal gardens.

A Legendary Home: Fontanel Mansion

9:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Unique would be an understatement when trying to describe the Fontanel Mansion, the house that Barbara Mandrell built in 1988 in Whites Creek, Tennessee. It was her primary home for years and acted as a gathering place and getaway for countless country music stars. Take a tour to see and touch artifacts of all sorts that were brought to the house by Barbara or left there by famous guests.

Additionally, the home's current owners Dale Morris and Marc Oswald installed elements from their own private collections from the artists they manage including Alabama, Kenny Chesney, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson and more. If you're a history buff, you'll be interested to know that the land surrounding the mansion is where Jesse and Frank James came to hide out after the gang's ill-fated Northfield, Minnesota bank robbery. And a few years prior to the James boys gathering here, the Confederate Calvary used the land as a place to assemble during the battle of Nashville. But there's even more to Fontanel Mansion's story than that. Come visit and experience all that is Fontanel Mansion.

The tour concludes at The Farm House Store & Coffee Shop where you can browse through their collection of unique souvenirs and the Natchez Hills Winery Tasting Room for a sampling of wine.

Distilleries of Nashville Tour

1:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.

Tennessee’s most famous distillery, the Jack Daniel Distillery, is located about an hour south of Nashville. Lucky for Nashville, we’ve had several distilleries pop up in town over the past few years. We will visit two distilleries located in Nashville  and enjoy a sampling of their product.

Prichard’s Distillery, located on property at Fontanel, is Prichard’s second Tennessee location. The distillery utilizes a new French-style copper still, called an alembic still. Prichard’s is known for their small-batch technique in the production of their exceptional, handcrafted American spirits.

Charles  Nelson moved to Nashville and by 1885, was producing more whiskey than even Jack Daniel’s distillery. Prohibition came and Tennessee laws in 1909 shut down the operations of Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery. In 2006, Charles’ great, great, great grandsons, Charlie and Andy Nelson, happened upon the land in Green Brier, Tennessee where the family business used to operate and started learning all about the history of the family business. They realized this  was their destiny and decided to bring the family whiskey business back to life. Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery opened its doors in November 2014 and its products include Belle Meade Bourbon, Tennessee White Whiskey, and Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon.
