Kaija Saarinen is the Owner and Operator of Green and Gone Pest Solutions, established in 2016 in Kenora, Northwestern Ontario, Canada. Studying environmental science as well as marine and aquatic biology, it was a surprise to fall into a career in the pest management industry. It was training animals in her aquarium careers that led to her first position in pest management as a bed bug detection dog handler, and later technician. After relocating and wanting to continue working in pest control, but with no companies located between Winnipeg, MB and Thunder Bay, ON (700km or 430mi distance), Green and Gone Pest Solutions was born.
Kaija is a Director for the Kenora and District Chamber of Commerce and sits as Chair of their membership committee. She also enjoys volunteering and fundraising for her local dog rescue, A Dogs Life Fostering Network. Her interests include fishing, camping, kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing (usually with her rescue dog, Buck, in tow.) as well as playing hockey and curling.
